  • Under 21 hurling Result v Duffry rovers

    The under 21 hurlers began and ended their championship on Saturday in Coolree v Duffry Rovers at 4.30pm, as they suffered a one point defeat on a scoreline of 1-11 to 2-09. We started well going three points ahead but the duffry responded well and scored an important goal shortly before half time to make the half time score 1-04 to 0-07. The second half started well for us with James Sweeney scrambling a ball into the Duffry net but this was one of the few highlights of a poor second half performance. Points were traded until the end but some indiscipline cost us and the Duffry ran out winners.

    Monageer Boolavogue GAA, Camogie and Ladies Football clubs would like to express their appreciation to everyone who assisted or participated in The Biggest Loser Competition and helped to make it a tremendous event.
    Special thanks goes to Anne Marie Walsh for her talk on nutrition which helped to motivate people at the start of the competition. Thanks to Jim and Josie Gahan for the use of their land. To all the stewards, photographers, record keepers, water stations and the drivers for ensuring the event ran smoothly. Thanks to Tom Nolan for the DVD. The Monageer Tavern provided a meal after the road race which was greatly appreciated. The Harrow Bar and Lounge allowed the use of their premises for the presentation night and we thank them for the food and entertainment that they provided on the night.
    To all the team leaders and their teams we congratulate everyone on their performance during the events. We thank you all for competing as without your dedication the competition could not have taken place. Thanks to all the sponsors. Finally thanks to Mary and John Carton and Daire Turner for organising the competition. Congratulations to Donny Walsh and his team on winning the competition.
