Our U.16 hurlers enjoyed a big win over Glenealy, Wicklow, last night (Wed), in the semi-final of the Leinster League. The match was played before a disappointingly small crowd, on a very windy evening in Monageer.
Playing against the near gale force wind in the first half our lads settled quickly and, with the help of two goals from Peter Breen and one each from Diarmuid Fenlon and Cian Allen, built up a comfortable half-time lead.
We continued to dominate in the second half and a further goal from James Walsh and a number of fine points from Sean Roche, who starred throughout, crowned a big win.
Team: Adam Dunne; Daire Walsh, Shay Gahan, James Squance; Shane Gahan, James Walsh, Michael Rossiter; Ian Hawkins, Sean Roche; Peter Breen, Camen O’Brien, Cathal Walsh; Joe Fitzgerald, Cian Allen, Diarmuid Fenlon.
