U14’s into County hurling Final!

Huge congrats to our U14 Hurling team who are now into the county hurling final after beating Ger O Hanrahans after extra time yesterday morning in Taghmon. The score was even at half time after a good start for both teams , with the lads putting in some tough tackles and battling hard in the second half. While a timely goal by Jack Doran to force the match into extra time. M&B 2-6 V  1-9 Ger O Han

Extra time our lads showed their discipline and with 2 x10minute halves to decide the final.  Score was even at 1 point each in the first Half of extra time. 3 more points for our boys proved to much and they won a hard fought game.

This team are also in a county Football semi final soon, well done again to the whole team and the mentors  . 3 more matches to go — lets keep it going

We must again thank the support this morning, parents and club for coming out in numbers.

U16 GAA 2014

The U16’s bowed out of the Division 1 football championship at the semi final stage to Dunbrody gaels( Horeswood and St.James combined team) on a scoreline of 1-08 to 0-08 in st. pats park. This was a fantastic match and going in as underdogs our lads gave everything and were very unlucky not to win.
This is the first time this group have played in division 1 and can be very proud of their performance throughout the year winning 10 from 11 championship matches.

The U16 hurlers bowed out at the division 1 quarter final stages to Oylgate/Glenbrien and again the lads can be very proud of winning 7 from 9 division 1 championship matches.

On a remarkable note these results were achieved with a max squad number of 17 committed players.

Having got a taste for division 1 action now these lads will without doubt be a force to be contained in 2 years time in the minor championship where this experience of top action will definitely stand to them.

These are a great bunch of lads who trained hard since january and as a club we look forward to seeing them play for years to come.

On a final note the players would like to thank all who supported the lads throughout the year.
