Biggest Loser Final
Congratulations to the Knocknaskeaugh/Tinnacross team who took the Title of Biggest Loser 2017 and well done to all leaders and their teams who took part in the Biggest Loser 2017. Over the eight weeks good fun was had by all taking part in the events i.e. the Bog Run, Table Quiz, Boolavogue Can Dance, Cycle, Tractor Pull, Fifa and Road Race. Also thanks to those who gave their time to help out with events either by driving, standing on the road directing traffic, first aid, keeping times or taking photos. Thanks to Jim & Josie Gahan, Ted Nolan & Danny Murphy for the use of their land, Seamus & Mary Canavan for the use of their premises for the table quiz and road race, Eithne & Daire Turner for the use of their premises for Boolavogue Can Dance and the final evening. Also to all who sponsored and took part – it is very much appreciated.
Biggest Loser Race
Well today we had the final installment of this years Biggest Loser in the Road Race. Over 220 took part between adults and children. Great times were recorded over the 3 runs -well done all. Also a hugh thank you to all who helped by driving, stewarding, taking times, photographers and to the Monageer Tavern for providing the refreshments after the race. Next Saturday sees the final weigh in. Also we had a number of spot prizes for the race. See results below:

Tractor Run
The Club would like to thank the Hawkins family on the running of the Tractor Run on Sunday the 26th February. 43 tractors took off at 12.30 for a spin which started at the GAA Complex and headed to Ferns, Harrow, Boolavogue, Raheenduff and back to Monageer. There was tractors of all makes and sizes . Refreshments were provided by the ladies on the Knockduff Team and we would like to thank them for the lovely refreshments provided. We would also like to thank all those who drove in front and behind the tractors and the stewards who stood on the road. We would also like to thank those who supported this event.
Biggest Loser Cycle
On Sunday at 2 pm the Biggest Loser Cycle started at the GAA Complex. Over 80 cyclists took to the roads on their bikes – some took on the 16 km and more headed for the longer 50 km route. The first man home from the 50 km was Paul Bolger from the Killabeg Team followed by Peter Kirwan & Colm Kelly. The women were led home by Catriona Nangle also from the Killabeg Team followed by Mary Carton and Marie Cullen. Shortly after these was Edward Kinsella who was the only child to do the 50km.
Dave Carthy led home the men on the 16km cycle followed by Aidan Kehoe and Niall Finn. The women on the 16 km was led home by Amy Long who was followed by a host of children, Bertie Finn, Patrick Kinsella, Aine O Loughlin, Niamh O Loughlin, Conan Carthy, Ronan Sweeney, Jamie Cunniffe, Oisin Stafford, Libby Brownrigg, Liam Stafford, Aaron Cunniffe, Adam Power, Simon Power,Emily Kinsella and Spencer Browningg.
A hugh big Thank You to all who helped on the day, drivers, stewards and the ladies who provided the refreshments on the day.
4@4 Walk
Well done to all who took part in our 4@4 walk on Sunday the 12th February at 4 pm. It was a cold, wet and windy day and over 50 people took part. Well done to Liam Stafford, Aaron Swaine, Grainne Sweeney, Ronan Sweeney & Aishling Cunniffe who ran the entire 4 km. Refreshments and a chat were enjoyed by all in the Complex after the walk.
