Our U16 footballers beat sarsfields by 2 point’s in a very hard fought and entertaining county Quarter final game played on the 18th of august. with the game in the balance the lads fought hard for the last 2 points of the game to win and now meet a very strong challenge from Dunbrody Gaels in the County semi Final.
Dunbrody Gaels are an amalgamated team consisting of both St.James and Horeswood. Dates and Venues yet to be finalised
All group games in
Division 1 are now finished and the U16’s have finished top of group 1b in both codes, an excellent achievement.

The U16 boys have qualified for the County Quarter Final by winning all their Division 1 Group games accounting for Cloughbawn, Castletown, Shamrocks, Blackwater, Ballyhogue, Oylgate-Glenbrien and Duffry Rovers along the way to qualify in top spot in Division 1B. We now await our opponents from Division 1A in the County Quarter Final.
Our opponents either Sarsfields or Our Ladys island will be decided by a play off.
The U16 boys have played 6 division 1 hurling championship games to date. Having lost the first round game to Glynn Barntown by 1 point the boys regrouped and beat Liam Mellows, Blackwater, Bunclody, Craanford and ballynastragh Gaels( Ballyfad &Tara Rocks) with a win rate of 5 from 6 going into our last group championship match against Rappareers at home on august 11th. A win against the Rapps will at worst leave us in 2nd place and qualify us for the Division 1 County Quarter Final.
