Monageer 2-12 Gorey 1-10.  After a win against Clonee and a walk over against Liam Mellows, the third team continued on their wining ways with a excellent win against a strong Gorey team in round 3 of the hurling league division 6.  A strong first half performance had us winning 1-7 to 4pts at halftime with Sean Roche showing some excellent skill in goal, backs hurling well and our forwards all having a big impact. • Hurling 365

Hurling 365 has been in operation in both Monageer and Boolavogue parish for a number of months now. This is a well run and fun aspect of promoting Hurling in the area and bringing children into our national games that may otherwise may not have got the opportunity of doing so. It works by bringing both the Schools and Clubs together to promote and to provide weekly coaching to children.

The Launce of ‘Putting Wexford First-Hurling 365’ took place last September in the Ferrycarrig Hotel, with club under-age Chairmen and club Coaching Officers in attendance. It was initiated by the Wexford Coaching & Games Development Committee and it was based on successful models in Kilkenny, Clare and Waterford. Wexford G.A.A., through support from the Hickey Fund, provide a grant, payable to the school, up to a maximum of €500 for equipment. This is a hurling-only initiative and is an additional support over and above the current County Board funding. This initiative will not diminish current football coaching activity but rather is aimed at enhancing, and increasing, hurling participation in clubs/schools

It is run by volunteers who help schools and clubs to shape their own future development and equip children with the key skills and of course love of the game. Not only does it help to promote the game but also is the foundation of many a long lasting friendships.
