  • Weekend Hurling Results

On Saturday the intermediate team bet Rathnure after extra time by 2-16 to 1-17 to qualify for the county semi final. We started well against the wind and had the best of the play in the first half thanks to some good hurling by our backs, damien fenlon and colm o loughlin in particular but the concession of a goal meant we went in at half time level 1-05 to 0-08. We never really got going in the second half of normal time, and despite holding a slender lead for most of the second half we werent able to hold on, and in fact were fortunate to draw in normal time. Playing against the wind in the first half of extra time we went two points down and things werent looking so good. The game was really open in the second half of extrar time and two http://celebrexonline-pharmacy.com/pain-relief/lioresal.php goals from Peter Mernagh helped us into a narrow lead which we managed to defend for the remaining minutes of extra time

Team was: Sean Murphy, Liam Gahan, Stephen Murphy, Graham O Reilly, Niall O reilly, Paddy Breen, Mick Sweeney, Damien Fenlon, Mark Walsh, Matthew Dunne, vantin Shane Kehoe, Colm O Loughlin, Peter Mernagh, Niall O Loughlin, Bertie Gahan

    Subs: Padraig Flynn, Paul Gahan

On Sunday the junior team had a similar experience to the intermediates. We hurled brilliantly at the start of the game when John O Loughlin scored 2-01. But Davidstown came in to the game and lead by 2-04 to 1-10 at half time. The second half was lively and intense with Monageer having the best of the play and leading by three points at one stage, when one of the worst umpiring decisions of all time was given against us. The ball definately went a yard wide, which was bad enough but even worse when the linesman told vytorin the referee the the ball had gone wide, only for the referee to ignore him. Davidstown got three of the last four points to level the match and bring the game to extra time. We were two points down after the first period of extra time which was a fairly dull part of the game but when John Ivory got a goal a couple of mins into the second half we began to think http://lipitorgeneric-online247.com/ of a win, only for Davidstown to go straight back up the field and get a goal of their own. Ed Rowsome had to score a goal with a 21 yard free in injury time to give us a one point victory but luckily for davidstown they managed to stop the shot and proceed into the semi finals.

Team: Morgan Gahan, Declan Kelly, Daire turner, http://lipitorgeneric-online247.com/ Sean doran, Sean McCabe, Chris Daly, Liam Gahan, Laurence Murphy, Ger Daly, Ed Rowsome, Conall Nolan, Patrick Walsh, Bryan Dwyer, John O Loughlin, John Ivory. Subs: Mark Gahan, Aidan Gahan

  • Junior b district Champions

This match took place against the Rapps on Monday the 2nd of September in St Patrick’s Park @7pm . After drawing last Wednesday a close affair was expected by all, and the first half proved to be just that with Monageer eventually getting the better of the first half scores to lead by 0-05 to 0-02 at half time thanks to some good free taking by Michael Ivory and scores from Morgan Rowsome. The second half started well with lads like Michael Stafford and Peadar Lacey doing very well along with the safe and secure defending by Dermot Prendergast and his corner backs, Keith Swaine and Murt Sweeney. The scores were got by Barry Millar with a couple of excellent frees, Michael Somers and Peadar Lacey among others, to help us to our first ever championship silverware with our third team on a scoreline of 0-11 to 0-05.

The lads will now go on to contest the county semi finals against the winners of one of the other districts.

Team: John Redmond, Keith Swaine, Dermot Prendergast, Murt Sweeney, Padraig Stafford, Barry Miller, Jamie O Brien, Micheal Stafford, James O Loughlin, Ciaran Fenlon, Michael Ivory, Peadar Lacey. Morgan Rowsome, Micheal Somers, Adrian O Loughlin.
