    On Sunday last a great crowd gathered in the Complex for an information meeting on Nutrition, Fitness & Injury Prevention.  Ann Marie Walsh gave a presentation on what we should be eating, i.e. portions and foods suitable to weight control.  Kevin Murphy gave a talk on how to keep fit.  Ger Dempsey gave a presentation on injury prevention with the help of Austin Codd and Tom Nolan who demonstrated stretches to carry out before and after training.  John O Leary brought out a sample of runners and explained the importance of suitable footwear.  There was books, recipes & money off vouchers available on the night and there is spares upstairs in the complex for anyone who wish to avail of this information. All in attendance were able to sample some fruit compliments of Lisa Stafford.  The Biggest Loser Committee would like to express a big thank you to all who made this night happen and we hope all present took some useful information away with them.

    Start point is St. Cormac’s Church, Boolavogue and the finish line is at the GAA Complex in Monageer.

    The big weigh in for 2015 took place on Friday night in the Complex. The weigh in started at 7.00 pm with the Knocknaskeaugh Team led by Yvonne Sweeney the first to be weighed and finishing with the Boolavogue Team led by Oliver Gahan. Also the committee, leaders and their teams would like to thank the 3 nurses – Bridget Sinnott, Marie Moore and Joan Donohoe for carrying out blood pressure testing. The full teams and their weights will be published before next weekend.
    On Sunday the 18th January at 6.00 pm there will be a talk on Nutrition, Fitness and Injury Prevention. Please come along and get some valuable points on diet and exercise to help you during the next 9 weeks.

    first event i.e. the Bog Run which takes place on Sunday the 1st February at 2.00 pm on Jim Gahan’s land at Tinnacross. All team members are urged to come along and take part. Even if you are not part of a team, you can come along on the day and pay €10 to the team leader you would like to support.

    Coiste na nOg AGM

    The Coiste na nOg AGM will take place in the complex at 1930hrs on Thursday 8th January.

    The AGM is open for all members and parents of all children who are playing in our club. Please come along and support the underage committee as they continue to develop the future stars of our club. If anyone is interested is helping out with any age group or the underage committe please contact Jonathan Dunne ( 0830022912 ) or John Dolan ( 0862159096 ). We have been very fortunate over the last few years with alot of new people willing to assist the club with our youngest members. We look forward to welcoming some new faces again this year.

    6. Sponsorship money to be collected in Complex on Friday 6th March.
