Leinster U.16 Hurling League Semi-Final victory

Our U.16 hurlers enjoyed a big win over Glenealy, Wicklow, last night (Wed), in the semi-final of the Leinster League. The match was played before a disappointingly small crowd, on a very windy evening in Monageer.

Playing against the near gale force wind in the first half our lads settled quickly and, with the help of two goals from Peter Breen and one each from Diarmuid Fenlon and Cian Allen, built up a comfortable half-time lead.

We continued to dominate in the second half and a further goal from James Walsh and a number of fine points from Sean Roche, who starred throughout, crowned a big win.

Team: Adam Dunne; Daire Walsh, Shay Gahan, James Squance; Shane Gahan, James Walsh, Michael Rossiter; Ian Hawkins, Sean Roche; Peter Breen, Camen O’Brien, Cathal Walsh; Joe Fitzgerald, Cian Allen, Diarmuid Fenlon. Subs: Micheál Gahan,  Colm McGannon, David Mernagh, Ciaran Rochford, Matthew Rochford, Patrick Murphy & Graham McDonald.

Date and venue for final has yet to be announced.

    U8’s Croke Park Visit

Well done to the 30 boys & girls who represented our club in Croke Park last Thursday. A very enjoyable day was had by all. The players got a tour of the dressing rooms and the indoor warm up area. They got to come out the Croke Park tunnel out onto the pitch. Then they all played very well against Clara in two matches for 40mins. After the game all players walked up the steps of the Hogan stand where they were presented with a trophy and got their team photo taken. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day. Please see pics from the day in our gallery.
