  • U16 GAA 2014

The U16’s bowed out of the Division 1 football championship at the semi final stage to Dunbrody gaels( Horeswood and St.James combined team) on a scoreline of 1-08 to 0-08 in st. pats park. This was a fantastic match and going in as underdogs our lads gave everything and were very unlucky not to win.
This is the first time this group have played in division 1 and can be very proud of their performance throughout the year winning 10 from 11 championship matches.

The U16 hurlers bowed out at the division 1 quarter final stages to Oylgate/Glenbrien and again the lads can be very proud of winning 7 from 9 division 1 championship matches.

On a remarkable note these results were achieved with a max squad number of 17 committed players.

Having got a taste for division 1 action now these lads will without doubt be a force to be contained in 2 years time in the minor championship where this experience of top action will definitely stand to them.

These are a great bunch of lads who trained hard since january and as a club we look forward to seeing them play for years to come.

On a final note the players would like to thank all who supported the lads throughout the year.

    Monageer abu!
